  Wisly Jean Baptiste

  Working in healthcare was a childhood dream of Dr. Wisly Jean Baptiste’s. “I wanted to help rebuild the healthcare system in my country, which is Haiti, and to help senior citizens,” he explains. He is passionate about caring for his senior patients and wants to address the “healthcare disparities, communication difficulties between patients and providers, culture barriers, and provider stereotyping.” Dr. Baptiste strives to “keep my patients happy” and always treats them with empathy and loyalty. He wants patients to have control in the decisions surrounding their healthcare. In his free time, Dr. Baptiste can be found reading his bible, listening to gospel music, and attending church. He also enjoys playing piano.

  Safanah Alshinqity

  MD

  For Dr. Safanah Alshinqity, being a doctor is her life’s purpose. “My job is not a job, it’s my life. It’s about loving to do good cases, and ultimately loving to help people,” she says. She believes in “patient-centered care that optimizes function and/or well-being.” She encourages patients to “express their concern” and strives to “thoughtfully listen to their answers and reflect on their wishes.” She especially enjoys connecting with her senior patients. “Everyone deserves a good relationship with their doctors,” she says. If she could, she would make healthcare “affordable and available for everyone.” In her free time, Dr. Alshinqity loves spending time with family, biking, and reading to further expand her medical knowledge.

  Emerson Valdez

  DPM

  Dr. Emerson Valdez explains that he was in high school when he realized his desire to pursue a career as a physician. “I chose podiatry because I can help patients with many different modalities,” he elaborates. For Dr. Valdez, seeing his “patient’s appreciation” is the best part of his profession. He specializes in all forms of podiatry, including wound care and surgery. He is grateful for the opportunity to care for the senior population and has done so for nearly fifteen years. When Dr. Valdez is not caring for his patients, he can be found enjoying quality time with his son and granddaughter. He also enjoys listening to audio books and playing sports with friends, especially soccer and golf.
